Position Summary: Part-time position responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of the provision of educational services at Mount Pleasant Academy. Develops and maintains the school’s policy and procedures manuals, ensures the school’s accreditation and licensure, and represents the school and Agency on external committees, focus groups, and councils.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Supervision of faculty
- Implementation of all IEPs and 504 Plans
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal education and related laws/regulations
- Development & supervision of curriculum and assessments
- Program and service growth/development
- Participation on appropriate statewide committees, groups, etc.
- Participation in utilization management and multidisciplinary treatment teams as needed
- Assist in the recruitment and training of faculty members
- Supervision teachers and related staff, including undergraduate and graduate student teachers
- Regular review of faculty lesson plans
- Consultation to and from School’s clinical staff to ensure overall quality and comprehensive care for students and their families
- Consult and train Agency employees in educational and special education policies, regulations, interpretation of assessments, and educational advocacy
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Requires RI Provisional Certification as Administrator of Special Education
- Experience with BD/ED children
- Supervisory experience
- Computer literacy.
- Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
Physical Requirements: This position requires residential and community visits, employees in this position must have the ability to:
- Travel to and from clients residence, community locations and office site, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to participate in physical crisis intervention with students as needed
