Position Summary:
The Financial Controller is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting and
maintenance of the general ledger, fixed asset system, JD Edwards Report Writer, and
various other systems that interact with the general ledger. This role will ensure that all
transactions are in compliance with GASB and/or GAAP, TGA Regulations, Internal
Control Systems and all departmental policies and procedures. Responsibilities must be
performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” companywide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
2. Maintain the general ledger and financial reports.
3. Prepare monthly financial statements and work closely with departments to provide a
thorough review of each P&L statement.
4. Provide information and reports to management in a timely and accurate manner.
5. Ensure compliance with GASB and/or GAAP, TGA Regulations, and policies and procedures.
6. Perform daily Treasury Management.
7. Produce management reports, banking reports, and other financial information.
8. Review all balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
9. Review all monthly journal entries.
10. Supervise Accounts Payable and Inventory Control departments.
11. Manage internal and external audits.
12. Provide exemplary guest service to both internal and external Guests.
13. Assist in annual budget preparation.
14. Coach, mentor, and develop Team Members to achieve established goals by
maintaining a consistent, approachable demeanor and articulating expectations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Three (3) years of Accounting/Financial experience. Casino industry experience is strongly desirable.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
3. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
4. Excellent PC and spreadsheet skills.
5. Ability to work independently.
6. Good decision-making abilities.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. Strong organizational skills. Detail oriented, innovative, flexible, thorough task
oriented, can work independently with minimal direction.
9. Ability to handle multiple tasks, and establish priorities effectively.
10. Ability to work flexible schedule, adjusting to changing hours and days off as required.
11. At least 21 years of age.
12. Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to
distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
2. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. with or without assistance.
3. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, bend, stand, lift, push, carry, and pull.
4. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
