Description

Seeking a full-time paralegal to support attorneys in the Hospitality and Alcoholic Beverage Industry practice group. The position is primarily based out of our Lexington office.

The ideal candidate will provide a high level of support and project coordination to the attorneys through quality and efficient assistance within, and as an integral member of, the practice group. This position demands a high level of overall professionalism, effective and highly professional communication skills, technical proficiency with standard software platforms used in the business community, sound judgment, acute attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage fluctuating demands under accelerated and often changing deadlines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organize projects by establishing and organizing paper and/or electronic files; monitor calendars; track and meet deadlines using appropriate software tools; document actions; input information into file; timely and consistently confirm project trajectory with attorneys.
  • Electronically file applications for licenses and permits with government agencies using a variety of state, local and federal online platforms.
  • Proactively support the development and management of practice group projects.
  • Support the attorneys’ ancillary litigation practice by preparing and filing routine pleadings, exhibits, correspondence and the like, including complaints, answers, and discovery materials, Accurately and effectively communicate with people involved in such matters, including co-counsel, opposing counsel and staff.
  • Assist in maintaining frequent and effective communications with clients as to all projects.
  • Effectively utilize the firm’s document management (NetDocs), time entry, expense and billing software (LMS) platforms.
  • Organizing meetings and calls internally and externally.
  • Basic administrative tasks as needed including coordinating appointments, transcription, copying documents, greeting clients and other organizational tasks.

  • Strong technology skills and proven ability to learn new programs. Knowledge of Adobe, Microsoft office, redlining programs and NetDocs a plus.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2- or 4-year college degree
  • 5 years of professional experience in managing projects.

 

Pay will be commensurate with experience and skill.
