Job Summary:

Description of Responsibilities:

Researches, develops, designs, and tests a variety of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial and industrial purposes.

  • Designs and develops Single line diagrams, Schematics, Wiring diagrams
  • Develops Short circuit, Load Flow and Arc Flash documentation using ETAP, SKM, or other power system study software
  • Prepares Electrical Equipment Specifications, Data Sheets, Purchase Requisitions and Bid evaluations for Drives, Switchgear, Transformers and other electrical equipment / materials as required.
  • Conducts technical evaluation, evaluate equipment / material suitability and issue clarification of supplier bids - complete technical report to support order placement
  • Leads technical discussion, meetings with suppliers and clients
  • Reviews Vendor Documents
  • Responsible for quality control of all deliverables within the scope of the Electrical discipline
  • Interfaces with Project Management and Client and liaise with other project disciplines
  • Assists in preparation of power system cost estimates and defining scopes of work for project design and study proposals
  • Builds internal and external relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal & external service providers or contractors
  • Works with electrical engineers, technologists and designers to provide electrical design and deliverables to a variety of projects
  • Prepares electrical designs, calculations and bills of material
  • Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer
  • Develops designs that require innovation and ingenuity
  • May provide some technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel.

 

Amount of Travel:

  • Some travel to site locations may be required

Basic Qualifications

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Experience with the engineering and design of onshore and/or offshore oil & gas or energy facilities involving high / medium voltage power supply, transformers, motor drives, switchgear / MCC, power distribution, electrical panels, lighting, grounding etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is required


Software:

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
  • Smart Plant Electrical, SKM Power Tools, ETAP
  • Microsoft Project

 

Education Level:

  • BSc, MSc or equivalent in electrical engineering is required
  • 5+ years of experience
  • NCEES P.E. License is preferred
