            Robinson’s Legal Department is seeking a smart, experienced, and highly motivated litigation counsel to assist in managing its litigation and regulatory matters. Responsibilities include participation in all phases of litigation, including initial evaluation, responsive pleadings, discovery, motion practice, pre-trial, and trial.  This position also requires preparation for and participation in alternative dispute processes, analyzing legal issues, legal research and writing, coordinating with outside counsel, proactive case management, and advising on case status and potential legal risks.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA Accredited Law School
  • Admittance to the State Bar of California
  • 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in products liability, employment law, or related topics.
  • Familiarity with the California state and federal litigation process.
  • Experience preparing responsive pleadings, and engaging in motion practice.
  • Experience propounding and responding to written discovery.
  • Familiarity with discovery issues relating to trade secrets and proprietary information.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in working with a legal team and coordinating with other legal staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem solving, strategic thinking, and flexibility/adaptability.
  • Interest in professional development as part of a growing company.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in state and Federal litigation, including motion practice and trial.
  • Prior work in a litigation firm or participating in active litigation in-house.
  • Experience preparing witnesses for deposition and trial.
  • Background in aviation, transportation, or technology-related legal practice.
  • Experience with California labor laws and employment litigation matters, including wage laws, leave, and compliance matters (FMLA, ADA, PAGA, etc).
