Large Memphis law firm seeking an experienced, detail-oriented legal assistant
Litigation responsibilities:
- Perform administrative and other duties under the supervision of a litigation or commercial attorney.
- Handle filing and organization of case files.
- Gather and organize relevant information from a variety of sources.
- Liaise between clients and internal/external third parties.
- Preparation of monthly bills.
- Transcription of Dictation.
- Assist in managing attorney’s calendar and keeping track of deadlines.
- Documenting, word processing, and proofreading, as well as maintaining hard copy files and electronic records.
- Open new files and client matters and request conflict of interest checks.
- Maintain and generate docket reports for attorneys.
- Create monthly status reports for matters that are in process.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.
- Superb organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Multitasking skills with the ability to juggle deadlines for multiple clients at different stages of the filing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
