The Outside Sales Associate primarily generates new business, preforms in-home or in-office surveys and creates accurate estimates for services requested.   

Responsibilities:

  • Perform any required pre-move surveys including on-site and phone surveys.  Surveys are defined as completing a “cube sheet” reflecting estimated weight/packing quantities for shipments, and providing a list of all other necessary requirements to perform the services requested.
  • Surveys will be performed for all types of residential relocations including military members, consumers, one time corporate (company paid but no contract) and national account moves.
  • Provide survey information to coordinators via documentation, Quotes to Go and email.
  • Utilizing UniGroup Quotes to Go Sales Program on an iPad and Desktop computer, create customer quotes based on surveys and cube sheets.
  • Perform sales appointments on site at residence of prospective customers moving locally, long distance or an internationally.
  • Provide the prospect with complete detailed quote reflecting pricing of services requested.
  • Develop self-generating business by contacting realtors, businesses, and individuals that are selling property and/or purchasing a new location. Attend networking events and create referrals from existing and past customers. Obtain information and send marketing post cards to residential properties for sale.
  • Through follow-up to close sales to meet generated sales goals.
  • Continuous learning is expected, relating to estimating, pricing, and providing proposals for commercial relocations such as office and warehouse moves.
  • Assist with answering incoming telephone calls when in office.
  • Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
  • Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization.

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • Valid driver’s license, car insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and use of a reliable personal vehicle.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-year customer service, sales or marketing experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with customers.
  • Must like working in a team environment and partnering with others.
  • Ability to work well in time-sensitive situations where customer satisfaction is the goal.
  • Proven ability to apply attention to detail, role-related accuracy and task follow-through.
  • Positive, proactive, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
