What are we looking for?
We are looking to add a Medical Secretary to our team. As the Medical Secretary you will support clinical operations by greeting patients, gathering demographic and insurance information, scheduling patients, and ensuring complete and accurate information to support the timely submission of patient billing.
Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following:

- Supports clinical operations by answering phones, providing assistance with patient scheduling, gathering demographic and insurance information, and insuring complete and accurate information is loaded in the patient record in the EMR.
- Verifies active insurance and eligibility for selected services.
- Supports completion of the prior approval process if required.
- Ensures that all information is accurate and available in the EMR to support patient billing.
- Provides patient with estimated service costs including fees, insurance coverages, co-pays, deductibles, etc. in compliance with Surprise Billing laws.
- Reviews HIPAA regulations to ensure competency. Updates practice documents to ensure compliance with pertinent rules and regulations.
- Provides services in a non-judgmental and trauma informed manner.
