ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times
- Call in when customer does not receive their entire order (shorts)
- Handle company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, and perform pre-trip inspection.
- Report accidents and injuries and any damage to equipment immediately
- Handle any customer complaints professionally by referring issue to right department
- Responsible for upkeep of vehicles at end of shift- clean cab and box
- Work overtime if required as requested by the Supervisor
- Perform other duties requested by the Supervisor or Manager
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or Class B
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of verifiable commercial motor vehicle (bobtail or 18-Wheeler) driving experience with at least one (1) year city driving experience
- No more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) accident within the last three (3) years. Combined number of moving violations and accidents cannot exceed two (2) in a three (3) year period. No more than one (1) accident in the past twenty-four (24) months
- Proven ability to communicate articulately and perform simple arithmetic
2) Minimum experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Be at least 25 years old
- Be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
4) Physical Requirements:
- Stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body, and walk
- Lift and move cases ranging in weight up to 75 lbs. continuously to and from heights ranging from floor to knee, waist, shoulder, and overhead.
- Handle and feel objects and/or equipment controls; reach with hands and arms
- Must have the ability to talk and hear; must be able to hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform position
- Must be able to climb on and off the box of the truck
