Staff Accountant

Job Summary

As a Staff Accountant at ALTIVIA, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our specialty chemicals and petrochemicals manufacturing assets. You’ll be responsible for recording, reporting, and analyzing financial data to provide insightful information to stakeholders, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial results. Working closely with the Vice President - Finance, you will gain hands-on experience and mentorship, growing into a financial expert within your area. Responsibilities

• Handle the full-cycle accounting of chemical manufacturing business units, responsibility for generating the financial statements.
• Prepare monthly variance analysis and reporting packages for management.
• Coordinate and support activities across locations and departments.
• Manage multiple deadlines and respond quickly to management requests.
• Assist with monthly forecasting and annual budget preparation.
• Prepare and maintain detailed desk procedures for respective areas of responsibility,
• Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including accounting and business optimization projects.
• Ensure adherence to and effectiveness of internal control in responsibility,
• Facilitate internal and external audit needs.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and analysis.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and perform meticulous self-review of work products for quality in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Preferred:

• CPA certification.
• Public accounting experience.
• Knowledge of SAP, Chempax, Concur, and other ERP and software systems.
