Position Objective:
Day Camp Counselors are responsible to model a genuine Christian lifestyle to primary youth, providing campers safety and well-being while befriending campers to nurture spiritual growth through program activities and curriculum in a manner consistent with Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, and values.
General Qualifications:
The Day Camp Counselor is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships, and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading Mount Hermon’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Help kids encounter God and others by partnering with the Day Camp team in all aspects of discipleship; implementing Day Camp curriculum within small and large groups.
- Responsible for the welfare of campers through guidance and supervision of Day Campers
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for all campers
- Carry out a variety of camp activities and curriculum, as instructed by the Leadership Team.
- Lead and assist in crafts, music, drama, group games, etc.
- Share in the responsibilities of keeping camp areas including workspaces and supplies clean and orderly.
- Participate in bonus jobs with other departments on the mountain which will be assigned at a later date.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
