What You’ll Do

As the Production Agronomy Manager, you will work to enhance the quality of our product lineup. This position will oversee field projects aimed at bolstering efficiency and productivity. Reporting directly to the Production Operations Manager, this role is crucial for evaluating new products and refining methods for existing hybrids.

Job Description Highlights

Improving Production Efficiency

  • Be the key liaison between production and research to collaborate on new products.
  • Provide agronomic support to production teams.
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and identify areas for improvement.

Product Development

  • Lead inbred screening and observation efforts to identify products that meet our expectations.
  • Focus on continuous improvement to increase the quality of efficiency of our hybrid lineup.
  • Provide production efficiency perspective for hybrid advancement process.

Data Management

  • Develop and maintain Wyffels Production Guides for field and facility-based activities.
  • Analyze and evaluate testing results to show proof of concept.
  • Present key findings to necessary stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, science, business, or related field; master's preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in seed corn production preferred; demonstrating technical proficiency.
  • Responsible Driving Record.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with data analytic tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools, and general knowledge of statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency, initiative, scientific creativity, and independent thought.
  • Demonstrated ability to Identify complex problems, review information, and evaluate options to implement solutions, entrepreneurial and business savvy.
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism, ensuring the protection of intellectual property and confidentiality.
