OVERVIEW:  
As Contracts Manager at Construction Innovations, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of contractual agreements, ensuring alignment with company objectives and minimizing risk. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to timely review, draft, negotiate, and administer contracts while fostering strong relationships. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the contract review and negotiations process with clients, and other stakeholders to establish favorable contract terms and conditions that align with company objectives while mitigating risks.
  • Review, draft, and revise contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, sales agreements, purchase orders, change orders, warranty claims, vendor and subcontractor contracts, and licensing agreements, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and legal integrity.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to industry standards, legal regulations, and company policies.
  • Support the management of contractual risks, including liabilities, indemnities, and intellectual property rights, to protect the interests of the company.
  • Maintain an organized system for contract documentation, tracking key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables, and provide timely follow-up and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the cultivation of strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to foster timely contract execution and dispute resolution.
  • Facilitate the resolution of contract disputes and claims through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration, seeking equitable solutions that preserve business relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in contract management practices, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, finance, and operations, to coordinate contract activities and achieve strategic business objectives.
  • Support Sourcing and Procurement team members’ negotiations with suppliers to establish favorable terms and conditions as needed.
  • Prepare regular reports and analyses on contract performance, including financial metrics, compliance status, and risk assessment, to inform decision-making and support business planning.
  • Oversee administrator staff or others needed to support administrative tasks.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Contracts Manager spends most of their time in an office environment. The office is an open and collaborative space where work is performed both independently and with the team to ensure that customer requests are met.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly sit, stand, and walk for long and short distances.
  • Required to hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions.
  • Regularly required to communicate: verbal and written, to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move material up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The noise level is usually moderate.

 

REPORTING STRUCTURE:
This is an exempt position that reports to the Director of Growth and Development.

 

CAREER ADVANCEMENT: 

Career advancement at Construction Innovations is possible with all positions but is not guaranteed.  Advancement could be within the current department or to other departments within the company.  

 

LOCATION:
Construction Innovations facilities and offices are located in Sacramento, CA, and Mather, CA.  

 

COMPENSATION:
A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $123,350.00 - $204,150.00. The actual amount offered within this range will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience, and other relevant job-related factors.  It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role, and compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances.

Qualifications

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 7-10 years experience in negotiating multi-million dollar construction, and manufacturing contract management. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Construction Management, Legal Studies, or related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., Certified Commercial Contracts Manager, Certified Professional Contracts Manager) preferred.
  • Proven experience in construction and procurement contract management, preferably in the renewable and power industry or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, legal terminology, and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex contractual issues, identify risks, and develop creative solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
