The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with supervising physicians for the evaluation of and prescribing of medications to the outpatient Mental Health clients as well as Primary Residential Treatment Clients.

The new Wah-Zha-Zhe Health Clinic will be a 63,000-square-foot facility comprised of: Pharmacy, Medical, Laboratory, Imaging, Diabetes, Physical Therapy, Optometry, Dental, as well as Administration.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure in the state of Oklahoma required, DNP preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience in Mental Health and Substance use required.
  • Required 2 years’ experience in the Nurse Practitioner role; 5 years’ experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of co-occurring disorders and appropriate intervention.
  • Medication Assisted Treatment certification for substance use required
  • Knowledge of the wide range of professional nursing and nurse practitioner principles, concepts, practices, and procedures applied to provide therapeutic healthcare to individuals and community groups.
  • Knowledge of HIPPA and Privacy Act and Basic Life Support certified
  • Ability to provide technical direction to nursing staff, ancillary staff, and other health care providers.
  • Must be able to walk, sit, stand, reach, and bend in the assessment and treatment of patients and lift over 50 lbs.
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation.
  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics.
  • Requires a high level of problem-solving skills.
  • Must always maintain confidentiality.
  • Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Must be proficient with electronic health record documentation.
  • Requires good interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing.
  • Must have a clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles.
