What We Seek: Gentry Locke Attorneys is seeking construction and employment lawyers with a minimum of 5 years of experience who are client-focused, entrepreneurial, and located in the Norfolk/Hampton Roads market. The basic requirements to become our next team member: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; Licensed to practice law in Virginia or the ability to become a member promptly; Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction law or employment law; proven track record of successful client representation and business development; strong legal, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills; entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think creatively and drive results.

Qualifications

  1. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  2. 5 years' practice experience.
  3. Knowledge of law and legal practice in order to perform substantive legal functions in client matters.
  4. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  5. Analytical skills necessary to conduct complex and detailed analysis of legal matters.
  6. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate by e-mail, in-person and telephone with a diverse group of clients, lawyers, witnesses and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
  7. Ability to travel extensively locally and statewide to attend to clients’ needs on legal matters. Multi-state travel a possibility.
  8. Work requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
