POSITION OVERVIEW

 

HomeRise is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to oversee all aspects of Safety Project Management coordination, handle workers’ compensation claims, and manage the project coordination of all legal cases in which our organization is being sued. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring our legal and safety obligations are met efficiently and effectively, minimizing risks, and supporting the organization’s compliance and legal defense strategies.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Safety Project Management Coordination

  • Oversee and coordinate all safety-related projects and initiatives within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to implement safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development and updating of safety policies and training programs.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements.

Workers’ Compensation Claims Management

  • Manage and process all workers’ compensation claims, from initial reporting through resolution.
  • Coordinate with employees, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to ensure timely and accurate processing of claims.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of all workers’ compensation cases.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding the workers’ compensation process.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation to relevant authorities and insurance companies.
  • Work with the HR to identify trends and develop strategies to reduce workplace injuries.

Legal Case Project Management Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all legal cases in which the organization is being sued.
  • Organize and manage case files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and other parties involved in legal cases.
  • Track and monitor case progress, deadlines, and important milestones.
  • Prepare reports and updates for the legal team and senior management on the status of ongoing cases.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and responses.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support the organization’s legal strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or a related field, Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a legal setting, with a focus on safety, workers’ compensation, and litigation support.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, workers’ compensation laws, and legal case management.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in legal research, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
