What are we looking for in a Program Manager?
The Program Manager for our Waypoint facility is responsible for overseeing all administrative and clinical aspects of the facility. Waypoint is a facility in Walla Walla, which offers crisis stabilization and residential treatment for individuals 18 years of age and older. This 16-bed facility is staffed 24 hours a day and offers a safe and supportive environment for residents to develop skills for long-term maintenance and control over their health. Each resident collaborates with the treatment team to develop an individualized care plan to outline goals and progress, help coordinate follow-up care, and ensure continued improvement after completing treatment at Waypoint. The Program Manager provides direction, guidance, and feedback to each member of the team, including providing clinical supervision and additional training when appropriate. Using advanced clinical skills, the Program Manager will also participate in treatment planning, crisis evaluation, case management & therapy provision, and coordination of services. The Program Manager will also have administrative duties that include coordinating admissions & discharges, tracking clients’ treatment progress and access to care within the program, ensuring staff’s timely & thorough completion of clinical documentation, and coordinating team schedules. This role requires a confident clinician who is able to provide feedback and motivate others, while also exercising excellent clinical judgment and effective communication skills. Previous supervisory experience is helpful. The Program Manager work schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, but also requires 24-hour on-call availability to respond to emergencies, as well as occasionally picking up floor shifts to ensure appropriate coverage at all times.
Program Manager duties may include:
- supervising & coaching program staff and managing team schedules
- participating in treatment by treatment planning, facilitating skill-building groups, and providing therapy & case management services
- monitoring clients’ progress, symptoms, & medication response and communicating with the assigned provider or nurse about medical needs
- ensuring safe medication self-administration practices
- tracking compliance with all applicable regulations and preparing for survey & license reviews or audits
- completing required clinical documentation and data entry
- collaborating with Comprehensive teams and community organizations to coordinate client treatment and make appropriate referrals
- ensuring all staff adhere to trauma-informed & recovery principles, including the appropriate use of seclusion and restraints
- collaborating with HR to maintain appropriate staffing levels, including participating in interviews and making hiring selections, and supporting staff retention by addressing performance concerns and providing additional training and supervision as necessary
- providing clinical supervision toward licensure as credentials allow
- ensuring the safety of yourself, other staff, and clients by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), including N95 respirator masks, when appropriate
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field
- Two years of experience providing behavioral health treatment strongly preferred
- Must have or be working toward independent licensure (LICSW or LMHC) in Washington
- Must be eligible for Agency Affiliated Counselor registration
- Driver's license, vehicle liability insurance, and a minimum of two years of driving experience
- Must be willing to comply with N95 respirator requirements, including the removal of facial hair for initial fit testing and throughout employment when donning N95 respirators is clinically indicated
