Description

Summary: Provide internal support to the organization’s network including WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi.  Manages firewalls, SD-WAN, QOS, and NAC systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Network systems

  • Manage, configure and monitor Palo Alto Firewalls.

Including:

  • Decryption
  • Site-to-site VPN
  • Web Filtering
  • Network Address Translation
  • Configure, deploy and maintain routers, switches, access points and other network equipment from multiple vendors including Dell, Aruba, Meraki, and Cisco.
  • Troubleshoot WAN connectivity over TCP/IP v.6 and v.4.
  • Manage SD-WAN environment.
  • Plan, and install IOS and firmware updates to switches, routers, and other network equipment.
  • Implement/troubleshoot access control and QOS policies.
  • Implement/troubleshoot Routing protocols such as RIP, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Implement and maintain network monitoring systems.
  • Manage Network Access Control systems
  • Ensure effective backup of network-related equipment.
  • Subject Matter Expert on Networking related subjects.

 

Other systems

  • Build and maintain network, Windows servers and desktops as needed.
  • Maintain and Test backup/DRC facilities.
  • Develops and maintains documentation of IT procedures.
  • Reports anomalous network activity detected to Information Security personnel.
  • Assist other departments design and implement new products and services.
  • Work with vendors to schedule appropriate periodic maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Ensure effective use of disk space and other system configurations to provide the most efficient and effective use of the system
  • Maintain and configure Office 365 systems.

 

General

  • Remains on-call as needed and determined by the Information Technology Manager.
  • Exercise awareness regarding suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior as it relates to cash transactions and overall transaction activity and document any such behavior so SAR filings can be considered.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, security and compliance programs including but not limited to BSA, AML, OFAC, Branch Security and Safety.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position acts as a team lead for 3-5 employees in the Information Technology Department.  Manages and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the credit Union’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.  Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, directing and evaluating work.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a college or university; Five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Financial institution experience, Cisco, Microsoft, or Palo Alto certifications preferred.
