About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Controller to lead our financial operations and strategy. This role is responsible for overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The Corporate Controller ensures financial stability, supports strategic decision-making, and drives process improvements within a shared services environment. This leadership position requires strong internal controls expertise, cash flow optimization, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Collaborate with CEO and executive team to develop and monitor key financial metrics, forecasts, budgets, and reporting frameworks
  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, payroll, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support revenue growth
  • Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and transparency
  • Prepare special/ad-hoc reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing costing and financial trends
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support decision-making and company growth

 

Cash Flow & Risk Management

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and funding strategies
  • Oversee the invoicing process ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery
  • Oversee accounts receivable, collections, and customer credit management
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Coordinate audits and tax planning with external advisors ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and cost control initiatives
  • Collaborate with department leaders to align financial planning with business objectives

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, regulatory requirements, and tax obligations
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all tax and labor regulations
  • Work with outside brokers to manage business insurance coverage and related costs
  • Work with Human Resources on the procurement of health benefits, focusing on cost management
  • Oversee employee 401(k) program ensuring compliance

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Develop and expand the finance function to support organizational growth and evolving complexity
  • Provide strategic leadership to the finance team by setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and driving continuous improvement
  • Cultivate a positive and growth-oriented workplace culture by prioritizing team development, offering training opportunities, and enhancing skill sets
  • Oversee daily operations, effectively allocate resources, set priorities, and manage change
  • Collaborate with direct reports to establish annual goals, track progress, and provide ongoing guidance to support their professional growth
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial operations and improve efficiencies

 

Contract & Revenue Oversight

  • Collaborate with the sales and contracts administrator to ensure thorough contract reviews for proper revenue recognition, considering terms, performance obligations, and variable factors
  • Review and approve pricing and the estimated overall value of a given opportunity
  • Provide expert guidance on revenue recognition to the finance team and senior leadership, supporting informed decision-making and compliance

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • CPA required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a mid-sized, family-owned company
  • Expertise in GAAP, corporate accounting, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic financial insights
  • Experience working within a holding company operating in a shared serviced environment is a plus
  • Proven leadership experience in accounting and financial management with full-cycle accounting oversight, including account analysis and reconciliation processes
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Paycom, Ramp, and Tableau is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams
