Firm Overview:

We are a well-established, growth-oriented public accounting firm based in Anchorage, Alaska, providing comprehensive tax, accounting, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Our firm values quality, integrity, and lasting relationships. We’re seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our team in a fully remote role, offering flexibility while playing a key leadership role in our firm’s continued success.

Position Summary:

The Senior Tax Manager will oversee complex tax engagements, manage client relationships, and provide technical and strategic support to our leadership team. This is a remote position with the opportunity to assist in taking over an established client base and support the principal with firm management duties. For the right individual, this role offers significant growth potential, including future leadership or partnership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and review complex tax engagements for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
  • Manage client relationships and serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Mentor and supervise tax staff, providing training, technical review, and performance feedback.
  • Assist the principal in managing firm operations, workflow, and client transitions.
  • Participate in succession planning by helping to take over and grow an existing client base.
  • Research and apply current tax laws to ensure compliance and provide strategic tax planning.
  • Contribute to business development and firm growth initiatives.

Qualifications: 

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in public accounting, with strong technical tax expertise.
  • Demonstrated success managing tax engagements and client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment while collaborating with a distributed team.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in career growth and potential future ownership/leadership.

Location:

This position is 100% remote, supporting clients and team members of a firm headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska. Occasional travel to Anchorage may be requested for meetings or client visits.
