What You’ll Do:
As a Class A CDL Delivery Driver at JJ Powell, you’ll play a vital role in transporting fuel products to our customers and company facilities with professionalism and care. You’ll represent our commitment to safe, efficient, and courteous service—on every route, every day.

Your mission:
- Safely Deliver Fuel Products: Operate a commercial tractor-trailer to deliver heating oil, diesel (on-road and off-road), gasoline, kerosene, and other fuel products to JJ Powell customers and company-owned facilities. Follow all delivery instructions and loading procedures to ensure safe, incident-free deliveries.
- Verify and Handle Inventory: Ensure the contents of each load match the shipping paperwork before departure. Confirm accuracy against the Bill of Lading and follow all procedures to handle cargo safely and correctly.
- Complete Required Documentation: Accurately complete and submit daily paperwork, including receipts, payments, and Bills of Lading. Maintain vehicle logs, cargo records, billing statements, and any required compliance documentation.
- Perform Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct inspections to verify the safe operating condition of the vehicle. Report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain Clean, Reliable Equipment: Keep the vehicle clean, operate it with care, and report any delays, unsafe conditions, or accidents to dispatch.
- Follow All Safety and Traffic Laws: Obey all DOT, OSHA, state, and local transportation regulations and company safety protocols at all times.
- Stay Certified and Ready: Maintain an active Med-Card, CDL Class A license with required endorsements, and all other certifications (i.e., DOT and OSHA) necessary for safe commercial operation.
- Work as a Proactive Team Member: Offer suggestions for service improvements and collaborate with the dispatcher and supervisor to provide exceptional service.
- Wear the Gear, Represent the Team: Show up each day in your company-provided uniform and required PPE, and take pride in being a trusted, reliable face of JJ Powell to our customers and community.
Work Conditions:
Be prepared to drive in varying conditions—including heavy traffic, inclement weather, and tight delivery locations—and to attach, detach, and maneuver trailers safely as required.

Qualifications:
To excel as a Class A CDL Delivery Driver at JJ Powell, you’ll bring the following to the table:
- Licensing: Valid CDL License (Class A) with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake Endorsements.
- Driving Record: A great driving record with a focus on safety and reliability.
- Certifications: Active Med-Card and ability to maintain certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company policies.
- Experience: 1 year relevant experience, or equivalent education/experience with attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
