About the Role

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive Product Data Specialist to own and elevate the quality of our product data across our B2B website and ERP systems. This person will serve as the linchpin between Product Management, IT, and Marketing, ensuring product data is accurate, consistent, and optimized for both internal efficiency and external customer experience.

This role is central to improving how we present products digitally — from faceted search filters to product descriptions — and will have a direct impact on customer engagement, SEO performance, and sales conversion.


Key Responsibilities

Product Data Management

  • Serve as the primary owner of product data hygiene across our eCommerce platform and ERP system.
  • Establish and enforce data standards, formatting consistency, and completeness across all product categories.
  • Collect, maintain, and optimize item attributes (e.g., specs, facets, categories, tags) to support discoverability and intuitive site navigation.
  • Proactively identify gaps in data quality and track down missing information from internal and external sources.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the liaison between Product Managers (from various SBUs), Marketing, and IT to gather, validate, and distribute product data.
  • Translate technical product attributes into user-friendly language that aligns with marketing and SEO best practices.
  • Support new product launches and SKU expansions by coordinating data collection and readiness.

Governance & Process Building

  • Develop scalable processes for managing large volumes of product data and ongoing enrichment.
  • Help define and evolve product taxonomy and schema to align with business and user needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data quality KPIs and establish metrics for auditing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with product data in an eCommerce, digital catalog, or ERP-integrated environment.
  • Strong understanding of B2B buying behavior and product presentation best practices.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) and PIM tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and how product data impacts discoverability.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret customer behavior and site analytics.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for structured data, taxonomy, and consistency.
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills across teams.
  • Sourcing, replenishment, buying/procurement experience would be helpful in this role.
  • High school degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Exposure to PIM (Product Information Management) system implementations or improvements.
  • Background in industrial, distribution, or technical product environments is a major plus.
