Education Attorney

We are a well-established real estate law firm with offices throughout California, seeking an Education Attorney to join our San Diego team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, updating, and delivering legal and compliance training for our clients. This position focuses on residential landlord-tenant and fair housing matters among other areas of real estate law. Your duties will include ensuring all educational materials and courses meet the highest standards of legal compliance, creating new content to address emerging legal issues, and leading engaging training sessions tailored to the needs of legal professionals and clients alike. Additionally, you will conduct in-depth legal research to keep our Fair Housing Practice Group and clients informed of the latest case law and regulatory developments. Schedule:

Position is full-time, exempt.

 

Compensation: $125k – $165k

Responsibilities:

  • Review and update existing legal and compliance education courses
  • Develop, prepare, and review new educational materials and training programs focused on residential landlord-tenant and fair housing law
  • Conduct research on fair housing issues, current events, and emerging legal developments
  • Research and prepare annual legal update materials for both internal and external audiences
  • Deliver and teach fair housing and compliance courses to clients and the public
  • Prepare comprehensive training materials and resources for live and online learning
  • Manage registration and logistics for e-learning offerings, webinars, and public seminars
  • Legislative analysis
  • Develop extensive knowledge of local ordinances


Qualifications:

  • J.D. and an active California Bar license
  • Knowledge of real estate law, fair housing, and landlord-tenant law
  • Experience and comfort with public speaking
  • Strong writing skills with an ability to write about legal issues to non-lawyers


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the rental housing industry
  • Familiarity with ProLaw, graphic design, online adult education (including webinars and online courses), property management, and/or demonstrated creativity in educational content development
