Purpose: The Card Solutions Business Development Officer is responsible for driving business growth for the credit card program based on the business goals of the department. This will be accomplished through various strategies, including market research, lead generation, and relationship building with customers and prospects. The Card Solutions Business Development Officer will be the primary point of contact for assigned banks; as such he/she will be expected to build strong relationships with community banks in new markets by demonstrating a high degree of professionalism, knowledge, and credibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Call on prospects to determine the scope of the potential credit card relationship opportunity, developing and executing strategies to identify, qualify, and cultivate potential customers.
- Effectively promote the credit card program. Take a lead role in the sales process including participating in demos, contract and proposal negotiations, and the closing process.
- Provide an excellent customer experience for customers and prospects by offering a high level of service and being a trusted advisor.
- Establish and effectively manage a short, mid and long-term sales pipeline to track business opportunities and achieve sales and revenue targets in conjunction with department goals.
- Analyze sales reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights to improve business development efforts.
- Ensure a seamless transition to the appropriate department or subject matter expert and periodically monitor customer satisfaction.
- Keep effective calling notes and update sales databases as needed.
- Attend relevant banking events, conferences and tradeshows to maintain visibility, share knowledge and identify prospects.
- Stay abreast of trends in the banking industry and competitor offerings.
- Maintain knowledge of and be in compliance with all rules and regulations as appropriate, including but not limited to GLBA and safeguarding customer information.
