Position Summary

The Senior Business Analyst provides specialized expertise within the IT & Data Platform team, combining advanced business analysis skills, product management insight, and Agile methodology leadership to drive the successful delivery of enterprise-wide technology initiatives, data solutions, and platform enhancements.

Functioning as a strategic partner and trusted advisor, this role bridges business objectives and technical execution by translating complex organizational priorities into clear, actionable requirements. The Senior Business Analyst shapes initiative planning, informs solution design, and advances the maturity of a modern, cloud-native data ecosystem. By aligning technology capabilities with business needs, this position enables FFF Enterprises to optimize operational performance, ensure compliance, and cultivate a culture of informed, data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

Essential Functions and Duties

Requirements Gathering & Analysis:

  • Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, data engineers, solution architects, and BI developers to elicit, define, and refine comprehensive business and technical requirements for diverse, enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Translate complex business challenges into scalable, future-ready technology and data solutions, encompassing enterprise applications, integration pipelines, curated data layers, and advanced analytical models.
  • Produce high-quality documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), process flows, source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, and detailed test scripts to ensure clarity, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Identify gaps, dependencies, and risks within requirements early in the lifecycle, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, governance standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Facilitate continuous refinement of requirements through iterative feedback loops, incorporating input from cross-functional teams to support Agile planning and solution delivery.

Product Ownership & Agile Leadership:

  • Serve as a proxy Product Owner, defining scope, writing epics and user stories, and prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value, stakeholder impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Act as Scrum Master/Agile Lead, facilitating sprint ceremonies (planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to promote transparency and accountability, while tracking velocity and delivery performance in Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Partner with IT leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to refine product roadmaps, manage backlogs, and align release planning with organizational objectives and resource capacity.
  • Champion Agile best practices and continuous improvement, fostering a culture of iterative development, stakeholder collaboration, and adaptive planning to maximize delivery outcomes.
  • Identify delivery risks and dependencies early in the lifecycle, providing data-driven recommendations to maintain scope, timeline, and quality alignment.

Stakeholder Engagement & Solution Validation:

  • Lead discovery workshops and requirements sessions with stakeholders across finance, operations, supply chain, commercial, and other enterprise functions to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and success criteria.
  • Act as a trusted liaison between business and technical teams, translating stakeholder needs into actionable requirements while managing expectations and fostering collaborative decision-making.
  • Coordinate and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data testing, and quality assurance efforts, ensuring that deliverables meet defined business objectives, compliance standards, and performance benchmarks.
  • Develop structured test plans and acceptance criteria to validate solution readiness, while proactively addressing gaps, risks, and issues identified during testing cycles.
  • Drive organizational adoption of data-driven solutions by supporting change management initiatives, developing clear communication strategies, and promoting self-service enablement tools that empower stakeholders to leverage insights effectively.
  • Monitor post-implementation feedback to measure adoption and effectiveness, providing recommendations for continuous improvement and future enhancements.

Compliance, Governance & Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, federal and state regulations, data governance protocols, and security standards, safeguarding organizational integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system, data, and process issues by leveraging SQL, reporting tools, and system logs to support root cause analysis, incident resolution, and continuous quality improvements.
  • Drive platform maturity and scalability by advocating for and implementing best practices in data governance, quality frameworks, and metadata management, ensuring sustainable growth and consistent data integrity across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and IT leadership teams to align processes and controls with emerging regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitor and assess ongoing initiatives to identify opportunities for process optimization, innovation, and risk mitigation, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or closely related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, four (4) additional years of directly related experience.

Preferred Education:

  • Formal training or coursework in cloud-native data platforms, enterprise analytics, or Agile delivery methodologies, emphasizing modern ELT/ETL practices and data governance.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or hybrid BA/PM leading enterprise IT, data engineering, or analytics initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success delivering enterprise-scale IT projects and data platform features that drive business transformation and operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to function as a proxy Product Owner or partner closely with product managers and delivery teams to define scope, priorities, and release strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL for data exploration, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with modern pipeline and integration tools such as Fivetran, dbt, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong background working with ERP and CRM platforms (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Workday), including expertise in upstream business processes and data flows.
  • Deep understanding of Agile delivery frameworks and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.

Preferred Experience:

  • Delivery of internal data products, self-service analytics environments, or enterprise data marketplaces.
  • Familiarity with Medallion architecture, Delta tables, Unity Catalog, and streaming vs. batch data pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, compliance requirements, and regulatory considerations within healthcare and pharmaceutical distribution.
  • Cross-functional experience with business domains such as finance, supply chain, operations, or commercial strategy.

Required Certifications:

  • None.

Preferred Certifications:

  • CSPO, CAP, CSBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent certifications in business analysis or Agile delivery.

Physical requirements

Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for prolonged periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.  Must have the ability to lift and maneuver items of at least 20 lbs. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working condition include normal office setting.
