Summary: The Senior Financial Analyst provides financial and business-related analysis and research for financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital and investment. The Senior Financial Analyst will analyze financial data in the multi-family, hospitality, commercial and other real estate ventures.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, market trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Create and maintain sophisticated financial models to forecast future financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability under various scenarios.
- Analyze actual performance against forecast indicators.
- Work with Operations on business strategy, pricing, and contract reviews.
- Analyze present and future financial performance of assets.
- Complete Proforma preparation.
- Collaborate with key organizational departments to understand business drivers and provide financial insights to inform decision-making.
- Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies and supporting the budgeting process.
- Assist in evaluating potential investment opportunities and assessing financial risks associated with new projects.
- Prepare clear and concise financial reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting key findings and actionable recommendations.
- Monitor commercial loans to assess the financial health and risk of the loan.
- Mentor junior financial analysts and provide guidance on financial analysis techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience and/or training as a senior financial analyst.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) a plus.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and draw impactful conclusions.
- Proficiency in using financial modeling tools and software to build and manipulate complex financial models.
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial system analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently present information and interface with company leadership.
- Be able to recognize and analyze trends in financial statements.
