Position Summary

As needed, the PRN (pro re nata) APP, drawing on their strong clinical experience, provides clients (Providers, APPs, Pharmacists, and other medical professionals) with onsite, in-person, virtual, and telephone-based support, application training, and guidance. The PRN APP educates APPs, Providers, and other medical professionals, including nurses, on the capabilities of Glucommander. This is a field-based, per diem position, where hours and work assignments vary according to the incumbent’s availability and the Company's needs on an “as needed” basis. The position works with clients across the country. Travel to and from client locations, and certain overnight travel is necessary to support client needs.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Glucommander products and services, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of diabetes care, inpatient glycemic management, and safe insulin prescribing practices via EMR
  • Complete all required Glytec education and training by assigned deadlines, including quarterly updates, regulatory content, and company policies
  • Participate in internal team meetings or recordings as designated and confirm participation to stay informed on updates and shared learnings
  • Provide clinical education and support to healthcare professionals (APPs, Pharmacists, RNs, and diabetes educators, etc.) through onsite, remote, and virtual sessions on Glucommander IV and SubQ
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and deliver re-education as needed in both group and individual settings
  • Prepare for and support go-live events, including:
    • Reviewing client-specific workflows and education materials
    • Collaborating with internal and client teams during pre-go-live planning
    • Delivering real-time clinical support during go-lives and capturing feedback
    • Assisting with post-go-live transitions and internal debriefs
  • Offer availability for at least two go-live assignments per year, typically requiring 3–5 days of overnight travel
  • Manage travel logistics, including booking and expense reporting, and ensure full compliance with vendor credentialing requirements
  • Ensure a positive client experience and coordinate follow-up or transition to internal teams for ongoing support

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience

  • Master’s degree required
  • Advanced Practice experience required (NP, PA)
  • Current RN license is required
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ clinical RN experience with emphasis on diabetes care and management of complex glycemic issues
  • CDCES, or BC-ADM preferred
  • EMR experience is highly preferred (especially Epic & Cerner)
  • Incumbent must rely on prior clinical experience and complex issues resolved when providing demonstrations and responding to clinician questions regarding the optimization of insulin therapy and the clinical benefits of Glucommander
  • High proficiency and familiarity with computers and technology; ability to apply computer-based concepts to clinical processes
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Glucommander IV & SubQ experience is highly preferred but not required
  • Able to travel domestically at least 100% of the year (attend on-site go-live)

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

 

Physical Demands

This is a predominantly active role. This role requires physical movement; workers change work locations based on assignments and are capable of walking, standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, reaching above the shoulders, and below the waist, as well as performing repetitive movements. You must possess a valid driver’s license.
