Knowledge and Skills:
Education:Â Associates Degree Preferred.
Experience: Must have general knowledge of Library practices. Experience with Library Management Systems, including catalog functions, searching, checking in-out, etc., preferred. Operation of electronic databases; general computer office programs. Possess strong customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Suites.
Interpersonal Skills:Â Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the college for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills:Â Knowledge of how to conduct research within the library and skills in sharing that knowledge with students.
Physical Requirements:Â The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Environment:Â Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
