Our Paralegals assist our attorneys with managing billable work, scheduling, file coordination, opening and/or closing files, summarizing documents for review and daily organizational needs relative to our cases in order to allow our attorneys to use their billable time effectively. Our Paralegals operate at a high degree of technical proficiency, have a passion for organization and efficiency and are solution-oriented. Candidates should work well both independently and within a team to assist our attorneys in managing the billable work of the firm.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Drafts various legal documents for attorney review
- Requests, follows-up on, and organizes medical record files
- E-File documents within appropriate court filing systems (Kansas City)
- Manages and organizes case files
- Researches and analyzes case data
- Drafts discovery
- Communicates with outside counsel, physicians, court personnel and other experts
- Bills time contemporaneously
- Assists attorneys with case-related requests
- Responds to record and legal documentation requests
- Answers phone calls, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate parties
- Works with highly confidential information and always maintains utmost confidentiality
- Acts in a stewardship capacity for MVP, works as a genuine, confident, functional member of the team, is hardworking with the ability to be innovative and firm focused in alignment with our core values
