- Advanced accounting software aptitude and computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft excel.
- Firm understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of WIP accounting, contract costing, and general ledger functions.
- Strong ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise reporting.
- High level of confidentiality, maturity, and discretion.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Experience with COINS software a plus.
- Independent but unafraid to seek advice and assistance when necessary.
- Thinks critically and solves problems.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and be on time, work outside normal business hours as needed.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required.)
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with 2-3 years in audit experience. Construction accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with ERPs preferably construction-specific accounting software (e.g., COINS, Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar ERP systems.)
