Summary of Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Business Partner serves as the human resources liaison for Extell Management Services as the managing agent for its portfolio of condominiums and apartments. This position is responsible for recruiting, on-boarding and retaining building employees; maintaining and updating electronic files, records, logs, databases, and documentation; providing general payroll, benefits, performance management, training, and employee relations support; and assisting with various human resources projects and initiatives.  Â

Essential Job Functions:

- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and/or regulations.
- Source and attract talent for Extell Management Services’ (EMS) managed properties, from posting job requisitions to onboarding and orienting new hires and everything in between. Â
- Prepare and maintain employment records.
- Maintain and update human resources documents, such as employee handbooks, policies, and investigation records.
- Serve as point of contact for employee questions and concerns including employee relations issues.
- Assist senior Human Resources managers with addressing employee relations issues, including conducting investigations.
- File workers’ compensation claims.
- Assist senior Human Resources managers with human resources updates, training and/or materials as requested by Resident Managers and/or EMS for building meetings.
- Remain current on Union contracts (Including but not limited to 32BJ Residential, 32BJ Commercial, and the Hotel Trade Union); provides guidance to the Human Resources Department and EMS on contract matters; and consults with the Realty Advisory Board (RAB) or other sources as needed.
- Assist with responding to unemployment claims, grievances, and other building matters.
- Maintain OSHA logs.
- Oversee and ensure legal posting requirements are maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
