Job Description:
The senior electrical engineer designs, prototypes, and assists in documenting projects ranging from new prototype builds to retrofitting older equipment. This position is responsible for constructing prototypes and documentation of the finished product, and training less experienced engineers in the principles and practice of electrical engineering, standard procedures, and techniques. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting design problems, collaboration with other groups both in and outside of the department, and helping to set standard engineering processes and procedure.
Essential Duties:
- Assist in designing electrical solutions for power generation, control systems and switchgear.
- Develop and revise electrical assembly, harness, and schematic designs and drawings.
- Assist with the development of Parts lists, wire lists, and BOMs
- Track and document engineering changes to current designs while maintaining a history of previous design information.
- Build control systems for new projects and retrofits based on documented design constraints.
- Troubleshoot new and retrofitted control systems to ensure proper function.
- All other tasks as assigned.
