Physical Demands:Â
The Nurse Paralegal position requires long periods of sitting at a keyboard drafting documents, performing research, or doing other data entry. Â Some light to moderate lifting of files will be required, along with some bending, stooping and reaching. Â Occasional travel may be required.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Nurse Paralegal position may require some or all of the following duties:
•   Record daily billable time in time and billing system;
•   Organize, analyze and maintain medical files;
•   Review, organize and prepare medical and event chronologies or summaries of medical care;
•   Update chronologies or summaries as new records are received;
•   Perform medical research on relevant issues;
•   Analyze pharmacy records for consistency of provider and complaint;
•   Analyze medical bills for providers and treatments consistent with chief complaints and for the cause of the action;
•   Assist attorneys and staff with medical issues, deciphering handwriting, answering questions etc.;
•   Locate, contact and/or interview parties, witnesses, and experts regarding their care, treatment and/or opinions;
•   Preparation of electronic medical record notebooks;
•   Prepare medical records to be provided to experts and maintain a record of the same;
•   Prepare materials for meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, including preparation of exhibits and notebooks;
•   Assist attorneys at trial, which may involve out of town or out of state travel;
•   Communicate with opposing counsel, co-counsel, clients, insureds, expert witnesses, court personnel, and others, to facilitate progress of cases;
•   Communicate with vendors regarding copying and preparation of exhibits, imaging, etc.;Â
•   Back up other Nurse Paralegal(s) as requested or assigned; and,
•   Any other related tasks that may be assigned by Office Administrator or Supervising Attorney(s).
