Distinguishing Characteristics:
Under minimal supervision and administrative direction, the Associated Counsel will assist the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in general legal service support for the TAA airport system mission, including but not limited to commercial and real estate matters, leasing, contracting, concessions, finance, public safety, security, regulatory and other airport related issues.
Essential Functions:Â
The following functions and all other functions not included in this job description are to be performed in the best interests and for the greater good of TAA.
- Support and advocate for TAA’s Mission, Vision, Guiding Principles, and Strategic Plan; Act as a champion and role-model of TAA’s Cultural Fundamentals.
- Assist the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in providing legal advice and support to TAA Board of Directors, the President/CEO and Executive Team, and all departments on a wide variety of complex legal issues and matters.
- Advise TAA management and staff regarding contracts and complex matters in specialized legal areas such as aviation, airport, and public/governmental law compliance, real estate transactions, employment, contract lifecycle development and management, financial requirements and regulatory compliance, and other legal needs of the airport system.
- Rigorous attention to detail, analytical thinking, and clarity of communicating.
- Negotiate and prepare, with a rigorous attention to detail, contracts, resolutions, leases, permits, and other airport system legal documents.
- Research issues and advise TAA departments as assigned
