BB CAMP PHOTOGRAPHER

Camp Shalom at the Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches is looking for talented, passionate individuals to join us and commit to giving our campers their best summer ever!

If you love working with kids and have experience doing so, we want to talk to you about being a Camp Photographer this summer! To learn more about what you'd do as a Camp Counselor, we hope you'll continue reading and submit an application.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Plan, direct, and implement photography of camp throughout the summer under the direction of the Camp Director. Work with camp staff to photograph camp wide special events and activities.
• Perform pre-camp responsibilities including creating shot list of camp groups, ordering supplies and any necessary pre-camp set-up.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of campers served, interact appropriately with campers in a variety of situations, appropriately model behavior and use positive behavior-management techniques - enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control.
• Continually document summer 2022 and the Camp Shalom experience by creating visual content, both photographs and videos.
• Post daily content to Facebook and password-protected online photo album.
• Upload and manage visual content in camps photo archive.
• Participate in trips and other special events in order to document the camp story.
• Spend a limited number of hours posting pictures and general organization.
• Keep track of favorite photos to create an end of summer video and a weekly slideshow.
• Meet with program staff when possible and stay aware of the daily schedule.
• Understand all photos are owned by the Mandel JCC and not for personal use.
• Maintain list of campers who are not eligible for photography.
• Follow a schedule and ensure that all campers, unless noted, are in photos.
• All other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Knowledge of how to use camera and lens and basic editing
• Able to take creative direction and constructive criticism based on the needs of the JCC and their marketing team
• Ability to manage other photographers and creatively direct them
• Ability to photo edit quickly and thoroughly and extreme attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and go above and beyond to get the job done
• Ability to be creative, think outside the box, and obtain unique and exciting pictures that the JCC can use in internal and external marketing.
