This is a 12-month, full-time position.  The Supervisor must have reliable transportation, proof of insurance, and obtain a “F” endorsement on his/her driver's license.  This endorsement allows for the transportation of clients and for driving Orange Grove vehicles.  The Supervisor must be available to work the scheduled hours of their assigned work shift.  Primary duties include transporting supported workers to various customer sites and removing their recyclable materials.  Must keep all orientation and training current.  This training includes CPR, First Aid, annual refresher training, client individual training (SITs), defensive driving, etc.  This person must work independently of supervision and maintain positive relationships with Orange Grove personnel, City of Chattanooga personnel, and general citizens.  Their responsibilities include providing on-the-job training and evaluating clients' skills and abilities.  This may consist of modeling cleaning tasks, sorting, collecting, and appropriate interactions with the community.  This position must assist in developing positive relationships and provide a source of awareness to the community on the productive and positive qualities of people with disabilities.  The Supervisor must also complete the necessary paperwork, progress notes, and reports that pertain to the requirements of the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, the City of Chattanooga, and Orange Grove Center.

TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Understanding and awareness of intellectually disabled individuals.  A knowledge of job requirements for light industrial and/or recycling.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Good overall physical health and personal stamina.  Physical examination, including TB skin test or chest x-ray, is required prior to employment.  Must be able to lift 50-70 lbs.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: Reports directly to the Recycling Coordinator
