Job summary
Assist the Director of the Front Desk in directing and supervising the operational activities of the hotel’s front desk within corporate and hotel guidelines to provide the highest standards of courteous service while permitting acceptable profit levels. Act as Front Desk Manager in the absence of said individual.

The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below or through the exercise of sound, reasonable judgment and initiative in the performance of job responsibilities.

Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.

Summary of essential job functions
- Review VIP reservations, amenity orders, and resumes for incoming and in-house guests.
- Update the computer system
- Monitor the inventory to ensure that groups and special blocks are handled correctly
- Communicate with other departments to ensure proper handling of guests and groups
- Perform front desk duties
- Handle cash, make change and balance assigned bank
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to prove clear direction to staff
- Observe performance and encourage improvement of staff
