The Opportunity: The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, order, and presentation of all public spaces within the country club. This role ensures that members and guests experience a welcoming, spotless, and well-kept environment that reflects the club’s high standards of hospitality. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has a strong eye for detail, and provides friendly, courteous service while performing duties.

Duties and Functions

  • Clean and maintain all public spaces including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, lounges, and event areas.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies such as towels, toiletries, and amenities in public areas.
  • Ensure restrooms and locker rooms are consistently clean, sanitized, and stocked.
  • Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish floors, surfaces, and fixtures as needed.
  • Empty trash receptacles and maintain waste disposal in designated areas.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or repair needs promptly to the supervisor.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of public spaces for events and activities as directed.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to member and guest requests.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and cleaning protocols in accordance with club policies.
  • Support the housekeeping team with additional cleaning projects as needed.

Qualification Standards

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior housekeeping or custodial experience in hospitality, clubs, or hotels is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
