The part time banquet server will serve the guests needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items, as well as, information regarding preparation methods. They also assist in set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and buffets/ food displays for each function in accordance with The Umstead Hotel standards.

Pay starts at $7.50/hour plus a percentage of the banquet service charge
The basic functions of this position are:
- Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in a clean uniform.
- Participates in the service and removal of food during banquet
functions by offering pre-determined menu selections to each table; maintaining
knowledge of each selection's, origin, taste, and preparation method;
communicating guest orders including any special needs or requests to the
kitchen; checking completed kitchen orders with the guest's original order;
transporting items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food
quality and making self available to guests, clients, and group contacts to
ensure satisfaction.
- Setting up, maintaining, inventorying and breaking down all beverage breaks and food buffets/ food displays
- Setting up of linen, china, glass, silver, for each function according to the banquet event order.
- Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
- Being able to consistently perform tasks within a given time frame to insure all event components are setup on time.
- Being able to consistently perform tasks with little direct supervision.
- Maintain the back of the house cleanliness and safety

- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
