Description

The Specifications Intern will be instrumental in standardizing and refining raw material specifications within our central specifications management system. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support the Request for Proposal (RFP) bidding process and ensure the integrity of product specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to enhancing the accuracy and accessibility of data while addressing the specifications needs.

   Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the specification development and approvals process for all assigned plants

   Maintain all supporting documentation in a central repository following established guidelines.

•   Ensure adherence to agreed-upon common practices across diverse business segments.

   Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving or streamlining associated business practices and offline systems.

   Perform additional duties as assigned by Specifications Management leadership.

   Exhibit a willingness to learn and develop professionally throughout the internship.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Qualified candidates will be pursuing a BA/BS degree or higher in Food/Meat/Poultry Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering
  • Excellent communicator: oral/written, listening, interpersonal relationships
  • Strategic thinker: forward thinking, applying logic and reasoning to decide, prioritize, and deliver objectives
  • Requires minimal supervision, able to handle multiple projects in parallel, and manage ones own time
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microso7 Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is required to sit; talk or hear and taste or smell.
  • The team members are frequently required to walk.
  • The team member is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Specific job duties include packing samples, evaluations, testing of products, pre-op inspection and floor prep.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The Team Member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Additional information includes ability to type SOP, SSPO, Fundamental procedures-ability to communicate, to lead and to teach.
