Chief Engineer

Lake Lawn Resort is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead our Engineering & Facilities team responsible for all building systems, preventive maintenance, and capital projects across our 250-acre lakeside property. This position ensures our resort operates efficiently, safely, and in a way that supports outstanding guest experiences year-round.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop a 10-person engineering team maintaining resort buildings, guest rooms, event spaces, pools, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

• Oversee preventive-maintenance programs, work-order systems, and vendor/contractor relationships.

• Manage departmental budgets, capital-expenditure projects, and cost-control initiatives.

• Partner with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Front Office, and Recreation to resolve maintenance issues quickly.

• Ensure compliance with all safety, fire-life-safety, and environmental regulations.

• Provide 24/7 on-call leadership for emergency maintenance response.

• Support off-site employee housing maintenance and resort renovations as needed.

What You Bring

• 5 + years of progressive engineering or facilities-management leadership in a hotel, resort, or large property.

• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, and life-safety systems.

• Proven success managing budgets, vendors, and preventive-maintenance programs.

• Comfortable balancing office planning with hands-on field work.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift / move up to 50 lbs.

• Preferred: Certified Pool Operator (CPO), technical license or degree, and prior capital-project experience.
