The Assistant Track Coach position is a part-time, seasonal coaching position from 2/1/2024 through 4/30/24. The salary range is $4,000 - $5,000 for the season. The Assistant Track and Field Coach will report to the Head Track and Field Coach and Athletic Director. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Supervision and instruction of track and field student-athletes during all team activities.
  • Effective communication with student-athletes and their parents.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, dedication, experience, and ability to teach track and field skills and conditioning programs.
  • Ability to teach student-athletes sportsmanship, responsibility, discipline, teamwork, commitment, pride and fun.
  • Be available for practices and competitions during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required for practices or competitions

 

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a Track Coach or Instructor.
  • Sound knowledge of various coaching techniques.
  • CPR and first aid certifications.
  • The ability to motivate students.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • A passion for track.
  • Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
  • Working knowledge of CIF Athletic Policies.
  • Knowledge of the existing athletic system, state and league regulations.
  • Undergo a criminal background check.
  • Must be a California Resident.
