Summary
|
The Construction Helper partners with the Construction Crew Leader to complete the necessary tasks and projects for the construction department
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
|
- Make the vehicle ready for the day planned by the work assigned, (Load parts according to what is given by the inventory coordinator, ice for cooler, etc.).
- Assist in loading and unloading of heavy equipment.
- Assist the Crew Leader in completing the work.
- Assist the Crew Leader with maintaining required vehicle logs.
- Observe safety in completing the work orders in compliance with standards and regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and tools
- Perform any other activities that are asked of.

Education & Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Mechanically inclined and interested.
- Obtain D water or wastewater license within a year of hire date. Unless not given the time to complete needed course by the manager.
- Prefer some related utility experience.
Language/Math/Reasoning Ability
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Computer Skills
- Some personal computer skills include electronic mail, record keeping, Clock, etc.

- Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
- Outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (for instance, rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.)
- Must be available 24hrs a day at times.
- Loud to Very loud (examples: jack hammer work, front row at rock concert).
