Position Summary:

This position is responsible for resolving potential or actual technical issues, troubleshooting different software packages, hardware devices and other applications

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure all IT support requests, and solutions, are logged in the Help Desk system (this helps us track issues and spot trends)
  • Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking
  • Walk users through installing computer peripherals
  • Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
  • Guide users with step-by-step instructions
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting
  • Conduct basic network troubleshooting (Wi-Fi connectivity, patch panel checks, cabling issues)
  • Test alternative pathways to resolve an issue
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Provide first-line support during upcoming domain migration and other system upgrades
  • Assist with Active Directory user and group management (account creation, password resets, group memberships)
  • Help maintain asset inventory (computers, peripherals, licenses)
  • Customize desktop applications to meet user needs
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional
  • Report customer feedback and potential product requests
  • Help create technical documentation and manuals
  • Maintain printing infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of a wide range of applications

Qualifications

Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitask
  • Excellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative required
  • Strong communication skills for onboarding and documenting repeatable IT procedures
  • Work independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative
  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
  • Basic knowledge of Group Policy and system imaging
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration (mailboxes, Teams basics)
  • Hands on experience with Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals like printers and scanners
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Education, Certifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • AA/AS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
  • 0-2 years’ experience preferred
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.

All employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.
