We are seeking qualified, like-minded Certified Medical Assistants to join our team!

This will be a Part-Time role  at the Dalton Allergy location with the following scheduling.  Flexibility will be required.

Alternating Monday &Tuesday every other week with Wednesday &Thursday every other week. 

 

Summary/Objective:
 Collaborates with the provider to determine the needs of the patient and assists the provider with providing quality medical care to the patients.
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
•    Conduct initial patient assessments and document medical histories related to allergy and asthma conditions.
•    Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
•    Collects data accurately and ensures that all information is entered into the patient’s medical record in EHR.
•    Perform allergy testing and assist in pulmonary function testing as directed by healthcare providers.
•    Administer immunotherapy injections, biologic medications, and other prescribed treatments accurately and safely.
•    Calculates, adjusts doses, administers, records, and obtains vital signs related to rapid desensitization.
•    Assists provider with minor office procedures.
•    Educate patients and families on allergy and asthma management, including medication instructions, environmental control measures, and symptom monitoring.
•    Provide counseling on treatment plans, potential side effects, and lifestyle modifications to optimize patient health outcomes.
•    Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
•    Assist in triaging patient calls, portal messages, and addressing any in office inquiries.  
•    Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care activities in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
•    Coordinates and schedules outgoing referrals, outpatient testing, procedures, surgeries, and infusions.
•    Oversees and manages the monitoring and tracking of incoming and outgoing laboratory results, orders, and referrals.
•    Reviews laboratory and test results and provides patient follow-up according to provider instructions.
•    Prepares and stocks examination and treatment rooms.
•    Clean and sterilizes instruments.
 
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Provide health education to the patient as needed.
•    Performs all duties in compliance with Galen’s clinical policies and OSHA standards.
•    Maintains clean and neat work area.
•    Active participation in process improvement efforts.
•     Provides relief for other teams, offers clerical support, and assist in the shot lab.
•    Recognize and demonstrate cost-effective measures in the utilization of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
•    High School graduate or equivalent.
•    Must be a Certified Medical Assistant from a nationally accredited institution.
 
Experience:
•    Previous Clinical and Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
•    Individual must be BLS trained and certified at all times.
•    Must be computer literate.
Skills/Certifications:
•    Basic Life Support certification is required. 
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•    Ability to multi-task and work as a team player.
•    Excellent computer skills.
•    Ability to follow clinical pathways and protocols.
•    Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle higher-stress phone calls.
