Position Summary:

Working directly under the Director of Corporate Compliance, this position is responsible for contributing to the ongoing development, implementation and maintenance of the Corporate Compliance Program, including but not limited to policy  and internal control  development and administration,  compliance monitoring , reporting, and identifying opportunities for  improvement. This position  interacts with managers and employees throughout the company  and handles confidential information with discretion and operates with independent judgment, self-direction and initiative.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in monitoring  and documenting compliance with regulatory requirements through the use of Auditboard, a third party GRC tool.
  • Assist in developing internal controls and other compliance assurance methods. 
  • Perform  second level compliance assurance  reviews of  existing  procedures by business units, focusing  primarily on recent insurance regulatory requirements.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively  with other compliance professionals across the company to foster  a culture of compliance.
  • Assist in developing companywide procedures and policies  regarding record keeping,  privacy and federal law obligations.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

3-10 years’ experience in a compliance or risk related field. Bachelor’s degree is preferred but will substitute experience for education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCEP, CRISC, CRCM, CRCMP, GRCP, CIPP or other industry recognized risk and compliance certification.
  • Familiarity with AuditBoard or other similar GRC tool.
  • A basic understanding of internal controls and risk management.
  • A basic understanding of federal and state privacy requirements.
  • Experience in  quality assurance, monitoring /auditing or privacy assessments.
  • Familiarity  with Florida  property insurance.
  • Familiarity working with laws and regulations.

 

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with GRC tools , preferably Auditboard
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products
  • Able to read and understand laws and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organized and analytical thinker
  • Possesses sound judgment and high degree of  professional ethics and integrity
