What You Bring:

 

  • At least five years of experience providing real estate paralegal services and support (preferably related to retail leasing and general retail center and mixed-use property structures, documents and requirements).
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree program (preferably in Paralegal Studies or related area of study).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop and document management applications.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong work ethic with initiative and capacity to learn new responsibilities quickly.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player within the legal department and with other departments.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare drafts of leases, amendments, license agreements, purchase and sale agreements, exhibits and other legal documents for attorney review.
  • Review legal documents prepared by other departments and external parties and prepare revised drafts with comments for attorney review.
  • Proofread and prepare final versions of documents for execution by the parties and process for execution as necessary.
  • Prepare and update lease forms, project site plans and other forms and exhibits and maintain library of lease clauses.
  • Research exclusive and prohibited uses, building restrictions and other legal issues and prepare verbatim and summary documents.
  • Review loan documents and maintain verbatim and summary documents with lender contact information and lender approval requirements for leases.
  • Delegate administrative tasks and coordinate with legal administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with legal department staff to improve processes and procedures.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by attorneys.
  • Overtime may be required occasionally based upon workload and deadlines.
