Overview of the Role:
At the PJCC, the human resources (HR) team is focused on what people need and how to provide it. The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including supporting the administering pay, benefits, and leave, recruiting functions, onboarding and enforcing company policies and practices.Â
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.Â
- Assist with unemployment and workers’ compensation administration.Â
- Assist with the implementation of personnel policies, procedures, programs, and reporting, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.Â
- Provide guidance and information to managers and employees in all areas related to company policies, procedures, and HR legal compliance.  Â
- Ensure workplace issues are handled effectively and expediently to remove barriers to successful job performance and foster a positive work environment. Â
- Assist with employee relations as needed.Â
- Perform benefits program administration, including communication to employees, tracking, and responding to inquiries. Â
- Assist with the implementation of onboarding activities to foster positive attitude toward company values, goals, and objectives.Â
- Participate in the administration of the Performance Management System ensuring effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.Â
- Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals; recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.Â
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and the highest level of confidentiality.Â
- Oversee maintenance of human resource information system records and compile reports on a monthly or as needed basis.Â
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.Â
- Perform recruiting activities which may include training and providing guidance on the recruitment and selection policy, posting jobs, screening resumes, conducting phone interviews, coordinating and participating in interviews, and preparing and sending offer letters. Â
- Perform full cycle onboarding and offboarding of employeesÂ
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.Â
- Perform other duties as needed.Â
