The Peninsula Jewish Community Center’s (PJCC) Camp KEFF has provided outstanding summer, fall, winter, and spring programs for youth from preschool to grade 11 for more than five decades. We provide a safe and nurturing environment where youth & teens can play and grow while loving their authentic selves. Hundreds of campers attend our programs each year to enjoy our week-long sessions filled with Jewish values, inspired to make the world a better place! All our camps are accredited by the American Camp Association.
Camp Counselors are the heart of Camp Keff programs. Under the direction of the Camp Leadership Team, counselors work to ensure that each child feels welcome, safe, and loved at camp through their daily interactions with children under their care. Counselors have a special opportunity to make a change in the life of a child while developing valuable professional skills and program planning experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for the emotional and physical safety of children
- Resolve conflicts within the group as necessary
- Planning and implementation of a variety of programs for campers
- Work collaboratively with other staff
- Engaging with campers
- Support goals and spirit of Camp Keff programming
- Uphold the mission and values of the PJCC and Camp Keff
Physical Demands:
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires walking and standing for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The work environment is characterized as loud. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit and use hands and fingers, to handle, or feel items. The employee is regularly required to stand, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, run, crawl and or a combination of several of the items listed above. Hours:
6:00pm – 7:00pm, Tuesday December 17, 2024 (paid training)
3:15pm – 6:00pm, Monday – Friday, December 23 - 27, 2024 (Closed on 12/25)
3:15pm – 6:00pm, Tuesday – Friday, December 30 - January 3, 2024 (Closed on 1/1)
Salary: $17/hour, plus paid training. Free membership to the PJCC Athletic Center during the days in which you are contracted.
