Athletic Duties
- Prompt attendance is mandatory, fifteen minutes prior to practices.
- Plan and implement a workout/stroke development cycle for the time of year and level of the swimmers in the group.
- Attend Swim meets in coordination with the head coach that your swimmers attend.
- Recommend swimmers for advancement to the next level as well as evaluate new swimmers for placement.
- Keep daily attendance for participants of your group.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior competitive swimming experience and coaching/Swim America coaching experience.
- Current ASCA Level I Certification
- Hytek Meet Manager skills & experience
- Should also complete the necessary Red Cross courses to hold a current USAS coaches membership card.
- Swim America Certification (highly recommended)
- Should be pleasant, patient, and meticulous about stroke development as well as a good communicator with parents and athletes.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- Work in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
